Afghan Women Network International (AWNI) is an international civil society organization committed to empowering Afghan women and promoting women’s participation, protection, and leadership by providing them with the necessary resources, support, and opportunities to confidently assert their rights and freedoms.
It is the global presence of the Afghan Women’s Network, long known as the premiere organizing body of Afghan women advocates and activists. AWNI is registered in the United States but has members in more than 10 countries where the Afghan women’s diaspora live. AWNI’s work is deeply rooted in the almost 30 years of networking, advocacy, education, and community engagement that AWN has been involved in since its inception in Afghanistan.
